Grivel Light Machine Ice Axe - Avayadevconnect

The Grivel Light Machine is a precise, nimble mountaineering axe that is light, yet superbly balanced, with a beautifully weighted head. The stout Mix blade, 4.2 mm, will accept any “normal abuse” hooking on both ice and rock. Sliders support your hand when you pull on them, and, sliding on the shaft, let the spike and handle penetrate the snow when you push on the axe. A stretch sling makes it impossible to lose the tool. The Light Machine comes equipped with Grivel's excellent Mix picks. These are T rated and ideally suited to general winter use (particularly in Britain where you will inevitably be hitting rock as well as ice!). Specific 'Ice' picks are also available for more dedicated water ice use. The picks are modular and can be fitted with either an adze or hammer, or neither.
