Named "spheres of light" by Antonio Neri in 1612, the first gazing globes date back to 13th century Venice. Popularized in the Victorian era, the mirrored finish provided a fish-eye view of the entire garden and they were believed to fend off misfortune and deliver happiness and joy. The ACHLA DESIGNS Celestial Orbs provide a magical ambiance to any outdoor patio, pathway or garden. Each decorative globe is made of hand-blown colored glass using a layered technique, giving the globes a crackly appearance over the frosty colored glass while retaining structural integrity. Use a single globe as an accent piece or set up several globes to light up your entire garden. Inside each globe is a LED light bulb that shines through the colored glass, creating a magical glow. The internal LED light is powered by a separate solar collector that is included with the globe. A wire connects the globe light to the solar panel that should be staked into the ground in a direction that allows for maximum direct exposure to the sun. The solar charger contains a lithium battery that can power the LED light for 6-hour to 8-hour on a full charge, coming on at dusk automatically.
